Shopping Malls
There are over 40 shopping malls and centers in the Dublin area. For
fresh food excellence, checkout Blackrock Shopping Centre (follow N11 to N31
to the Centre or DART train (dir Bray) to Blackrock + 5 min walk). The
largest mall is Blanchardstown Centre (opened October 1996 - follow N4 to
M50 Northbound to N3 from Dublin centre). Another large mall is the Liffey
Valley Centre (opened October 1998 - signposted from N4 just West of M50
interchange). These large malls are dominated by tacky downmarket chain
stores and contain very little that is Irish in origin. Street shops in
central Dublin generally offer better quality merchandise, much of which is
Irish.
