Mobile phone networks

There are three mobile phone networks serving the Cork area - Vodafone, O2 and Meteor. The regulatory authorities say that Vodafone and O2 have over 90% of the market between them.  Tariffs seem to be designed to confuse and inhibit comparison shopping.  In general the networks are overloaded and call quality is disappointing by European standards - even in city centre locations where there is generally little difficulty finding locations for cellsites.

Details of roaming agreements can be found here.
